Set Up Check Printing

You can select your default print settings and troubleshoot check printing issues.

Step 1: Set Chrome Browser Settings to Download as PDF

If the printed text does not fit properly within your check stock, there are a few options to adjust it:

1. Make Adobe Reader your default application for opening PDF files. 
2. In the upper right corner of Google Chrome, click the three dots.
3. Toward the bottom of the drop-down, click Settings.
4. On the Settings screen, scroll to the bottom and click Advanced.
5. In the Advanced section, under the Privacy and security section, click Site Settings.
6. On the Site Settings screen, at the bottom, click Additional content settings.
7. Click PDF documents.
8. Click the slider to Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome.

Step 2: Set Your Printer’s Settings

To set your printer’s settings: 

1. Open up your PDF file in Adobe Reader.
2. In the upper left corner, click File > Print.
3. Under Page Sizing & Handling, click Size.
4. Click Actual Size.
5. Confirm the document size is 8.5 x 11 inches.

5. Click Print.
6. Confirm your printed PDF properly aligns with your check stock.

Step 3: Add a Check to Your Print Queue

To add a check to your check printing queue:

1. Add an operating or trust withdrawal transaction, being sure to check the To be Printed box.
   This adds To Print in the Ref # field and adds the check to your print queue.
2. Print the check on blank paper.
3. Hold the page up against your check stock to confirm it aligns.
4. Once you confirm alignment, print your operating or trust account checks.  

Troubleshooting Check Print Offset Settings

If the check text is printing too high or too low, use the check print offset setting to adjust its placement:

1. From the left navigation panel, click Setup.
2. From the Setup left navigation, click Firm Settings.
3. From the tabs atop the Firm Settings screen, click Financial.
   The Financial screen opens.
4. On the Financial screen, under the Misc Settings section, take the appropriate action:
   • Text Prints Below the Line –  decrease the offset
   • Text Prints Above the Line –  increase the offset

You can enter any decimal between 0.00 and 2.00

5. Print another test check to ensure proper alignment.
   Note

   If you notice an inconsistency with check spacing in check-check-check style, it may be due to page sizing within your printer settings.
