Take a Screenshot

You can take a screenshot of your entire screen, or a portion of it, using the correct key combination.

The key combination depends on your operating system.

Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7
  • The Snip & Sketch app lets users capture screenshots in all windows environments.
  • To access Snip & Sketch, press and hold the Windows logo key + Shift + S.
  • Microsoft provides detailed instructions for using Snip & Sketch.
Mac
  • For the Mojave and later operating systems, press and hold Shift + Command + 5.
  • For all other operating systems, press and hold Shift + Command + 5.
  • Apple provides detail instructions for taking a screenshot in a Mac environment.
Chromebook
  • To take a full screenshot in a Windows environment, press and hold Shift + Ctrl + Show.
  • To take a full screenshot in a Mac environment, press and hold Shift + Ctrl + F5.
  • You can also click and drag to take a partial screenshot.
  • Google provides detailed instructions for taking a screenshot in a Chromebook environment.
