CosmoLex Corner (Employee Spotlight):

Bernard Reeves, Account Manager

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of NC is a part of the largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting blood cancer in the world. The LLS’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The research funded by the LLS has funded countless drugs for other forms of cancer, which started as treatments for blood cancer.

For Bernard Reeves (known to many as B.) an Account Manager on our Sales Team, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of NC is a cause very important to his family. Brother of a Leukemia and Brain Cancer survivor, Bernard became involved with the Triangle Area Chapter when a family friend nominated him as a candidate for the 2020 LLS of Triangle Area Man of the Year last fall. The ten-week fundraising competition began March 3rd, just weeks before Covid-19 shut down North Carolina with its Stay at Home order. Luckily, Bernard was able to get in some crucial in-person meetings with corporate sponsors before turning to an email, phone, and text campaign while in lockdown. Proving difficult for people to say no when learning his brother’s story and why he was raising the money, Bernard was able to raise over $130K for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of NC in that short amount of time earning him the title of Triangle Area Man of the Year!
