10.13.0 Update (July 12, 2024)

Exciting new features allowing invoice preview, drafts and approvals along with other enhancements in NextGen.

New Features

The new items listed below will impact your billing workflow. Please be sure to review these features and the video below

Preview Invoice

When generating an invoice, you will see a new Preview Invoice button, which allows you to review and download the invoice prior to generating. When you are ready to generate the final invoice do so as usual. There will not be an additional finalization step. 

Pre-bill Approval Process

If you are requiring an invoice review and approval step, we have great news !! You can now enable the invoice approval process under Setup which allows you to generate a draft invoice, review, approve and then generate the final invoice.

Fixes

  • The Send Invoices screen will display the correct invoice total when grouped by matter or client.
  • Users will be able to use the Online Trust Retainer Payment link without getting an error.
  • When you download an invoice grouped by invoice, matter, or client from the application, the file name will be identical to the email that was sent to the client with invoices with same grouping options.
  • When you use split billing for a matter using split both hours and the amount option, the hour and amount will be calculated correctly based on the split configuration.
  • If the status of a Task is marked as Done, user will not get an email reminder for it.

NextGen Enhancements

We have added exciting new features to further improve your NextGen experience:

    • Pre-Bill Preview: Prior to generating an invoice, you can preview your invoice and download a sample of it, to review it and see what it looks like.
    • Auto Trust Transfer: This allows you to transfer trust funds from the default trust bank associated with a matter while creating an invoice.
    • Pre-Bill Approval Workflow: Review your Work in Progress (WIP) to make any adjustments prior to billing.
    • Desktop Time Tracker: A productivity tool designed to help you track and manage your daily activities efficiently. This tool helps you monitor the time you spend on specific applications, handle timers, and even apply the Pomodoro technique.
    • Webcal/iCal file Export: This one-way sync allows your application’s calendar events to be shared with an external calendar.
    • Expense Import: A tool that allows you to import files from your copier or printer.
    • Client Portal: A secure way to communicate and share information with your clients and exchange messages and comments for instant communication.
    • Intake Forms: Automate the collection and population of information specific to a certain type of matter.
